FRESNO COUNTY - A head-on collision Sunday evening left two people with serious injuries, the Fresno Bee reported. The accident happened on Conejo Avenue, just east of McCall Avenue at about 7 p.m. According to news reports, the driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix stopped on the shoulder of eastbound Conejo Avenue. When the driver reentered traffic, the vehicle collided head-on with a Ford Explorer. The Pontiac driver suffered two broken legs was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Explorer suffered bone fractures and internal injuries. The cause of the August 21st collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. According to the CHP, drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
