Driver Killed When Metal Object Slams Through Windshield on Highway 55
TUSTIN - A 60-year-old male driver was tragically killed in Tustin Friday after a metal object crashed through his windshield and struck him in the head. According to The Orange County Register, William Donovan of Irvine, was driving his Toyota north on state Route 55 south of McFadden Avenue when a metal object possibly coming from another vehicle, slammed through his windshield and severely injured him.
Following the accident, Donovan was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he later died from major head injuries. Authorities are asking anyone with information pertaining to this fatal May 11th incident to call (714)567-6000.

ORANGE COUNTY - A four-vehicle crash in Fountain Valley Tuesday afternoon left five people injured, the Orange County Register reported. The collision, which involved four vehicles, occurred just before 3 p.m. near Warner Avenue and Newhope Street on February 14, 2012. One of the drivers suffered a head injury. LA HABRA - A 20-year-old La Habra man was very tragically killed in a motorcycle accident Monday night, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and Orange County Register reported. The motorcyclist, Bryan Hodges, died at the scene of the 5:22 p.m. crash on Euclid Street and Country Hills Drive, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department press release. The initial investigation by law enforcement indicated that Hodges, along with another motorcyclist, was riding southbound on Euclid Street when a vehicle making a left turn from northbound Street Avenue onto Country Hills Drive pulled into the path of his motorcycle.
SAN CLEMENTE - Ten people suffered injuries ranging from minor to major following a multi-vehicle car accident Wednesday afternoon, the Orange County Register reported. The accident reportedly began in the fast lane of Interstate 5, near Avenida Pico, when the driver of a Dodge rear-ended a Nissan. The impact of the collision sent the Nissan into the No. 2 lane where it collided with a Mercedes-Benz. The 26-year-old male driver of the Nissan and five passengers in the vehicle were taken to Mission Hospital. Two of the occupants suffered moderate injuries, two suffered major injuries, and two suffered minor injuries. Four occupants of the Dodge were taken to UCI Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Mercedes, a 55-year-old Carlsbad man, was apparently not hurt.
A 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries Sunday night when he as struck by a Ford Explorer in Orange County, the OC Register reported. The accident was reported at 10:03 p.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Katella Avenue in Stanton. According to authorities, the man, who was not identified, was crossing the road when he was hit by a Ford Explorer driven by a 35-year-old man, who also was not identified. The injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
A 23-year-old Costa Mesa woman was hospitalized with a severe head injury following an accident Tuesday morning in Costa Mesa, the Orange County Register reported. The victim was a pedestrian that was struck by the flying wreckage of a broadside intersection crash caused by a 17-year-old driver running a red light. The accident was reported around 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Sunflower Avenue and Stevens Avenue.
