Tow Truck Driver Fatally Struck in Auburn
PLACER COUNTY -- The Auburn Journal reported a tow truck driver was involved in a hit and run collision on Interstate 80 at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. According to numerous news sources, the tow truck driver stepped out of his truck that was parked on the side of Interstate 80 and the Ophir Road off-ramp when for unknown reasons a vehicle struck him and then fled the scene.
Following the March 20th Auburn accident, the tow truck driver identified as David Garfield Robinson Jr., was taken to a Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he later died due to injuries. CHP officials are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the incident to call (916) 663-3344.
