Two Injured in Fatal Palm Springs Head-On Car Crash

RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- One person was killed and two others injured in a Thursday night car collision near the Interstate 10 freeway in Palm Springs. The terrible accident happened at about 8:48 p.m. when the driver of a white Dodge Neon going south on Gene Autry Trail veered into the northbound lanes and slammed head-on with a Toyota Camry.

The Dodge Neon driver, who was identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's office as a 54-year-old Joyce Stotz of Palm Springs, was reported to have died in the crash. The occupants in the Toyota were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Spring where they are listed in critical condition.

According to The Desert Sun, authorities have not determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident and the cause remains undetermined at the moment.

One Injured in Palm Springs Hit-and-Run Accident

Visto Chino and Farrell Drive - Palm Springs.pngRIVERSIDE COUNTY - According to The Desert Sun, at least one person was injured and taken to Desert Regional Medical Center after a horrible hit-and-run collision in Palm Springs. The Friday night accident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vista Chino and Farrell Drive. No other details were available regarding the collision.

Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Palm Springs Accident

Indian Canyon and Tachevah - Palm Springs.pngRIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A 48-year-old Palm Springs man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night. The Desert Sun reported the Palm Springs man, Jon Ely, was riding his 2003 Harley Davidson on the northbound lanes of Indian Canyon Drive, when the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche attempted to make a left turn in front of him.

Authorities at the scene indicated there was no indication that alcohol was a factor, however, the result of this dreadful intersection accident at Indian Canyon and Tachevah drives left Ely tragically dead at the scene. The driver of the Avalanche sustained minor injuries and is currently cooperating with police.

Cause of the Motorcycle Crash

The Palm Springs crash on March 24th remains under investigation by local law enforcement. However, based on the information provided by The Desert Sun, it is not evident what prompted this collision. Palm Springs Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Sunrise Way

pedestrian-accident-sunrise.jpgA 50-year-old Palm Springs man tragically was killed Thanksgiving Day when he was hit by a vehicle while walking on Sunrise Way, KPSP Local 2 News reported. The car vs. pedestrian accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Sunrise Way, about 200 feet north of Ramon Road. The victim, Jesus Cardova Diaz, was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he died at 7:43 p.m. The driver, who was not injured in the accident, wasn't cited or arrested at the scene. The cause of the fatal Riverside County pedestrian accident remains under investigation.

The September 6th injury car accident was reported at about 4:40 p.m. on E. Palm Canyon Drive near Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. Based on the very limited information provided in news reports, it is unclear what happened to cause this three-car crash and who was responsible.
