Motorcyclist Killed in San Mateo County Crash

LA HONDA - A motorcyclist was tragically killed Sunday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle, the Pacific Patch reported today. The fatal collision happened at around 3:05 p.m. on Pescadero Creek Road, just south of La Honda Road in unincorporated San Mateo County. According to a news report, the crash involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a compact vehicle. The motorcyclist, who was only identified as a male, was airlifted to Stanford Hospital, where he died of his injuries. The road remained closed for an hour following the collision.

Cause of the May 20th Crash

News reports in the Contra Costa Times and Pacifica Patch provided very limited details of the accident. Based on the information provided, it is not clear the direction the motorcycle and car were travelling when the collision occurred, or how fast they were travelling. Young Girl Struck and Killed by Car in East Palo Alto

bay road and gloria way.pngSAN MATEO COUNTY -- A 6-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car in the city of East Palo Alto, San Francisco Chronicle reported. This tragic accident occurred around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Bay Road and Gloria Way, when a girl, Sioreli Torres Zamora, was hit while she was walking through a crosswalk with her mother, Guadalupe Zamora, and her two younger sisters. The mother and the two sisters were reported not be injured in this accident. Following the collision, East Palo Alto police spokesman said the crash will be investigated and that the driver of the car, Flisha Whiteparker, was not arrested.

Cause of the Pedestrian Accident in East Palo Alto

The pedestrian accident on September 28th remains under investigation by the East Palo Alto Police Department. However, based on the information provided by the San Francisco Chronicle, it is unclear what caused the driver to hit the young girl. Oakland Man Struck and Killed in Daly City Hit-and-Run Accident

DALY CITY - A man walking on Interstate 280 in Daly City was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, the Contra Costa Times reported. The fatal pedestrian accident was reported at 5:50 a.m. on April 10, 2011. The pedestrian, Walter Barrett, 53, of Oakland was struck on southbound Interstate 280, apparently while trying to cross the roadway. The driver of the Toyota Corolla that struck him fled the scene on foot. San Francisco Man Killed in Daly City Car Accident

DALY CITY - A 48-year-old San Francisco man died tragically in a solo vehicle car accident Saturday night in Daly City, the Belmont Patch reported. The victim, Zhi Min Luo, was driving southbound on the John Daly Boulevard offramp when he lost control of his vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. Luo was pronounced dead at the scene of the April 2nd San Mateo County accident. The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation.

Daly City Police Officer Injured in Highway 92 Accident

DALY CITY - A Daly City police motorcycle officer lost control of his bike Tuesday afternoon on Highway 92 and was subsequently struck by a utility truck, the San Francisco Examiner reported. At about 4 p.m. on March 8th, the CHP received reports of a disabled 2000 Ford utility truck in the eastbound lanes of traffic near Skyline Boulevard. It later became apparent that the motorcycle officer was also involved in the crash, and had initially lost control of his bike due to oil in the roadway and was subsequently struck. The CHP is investigating the March 8th Highway 92 accident.

Newark Man Killed in Hwy 101 Accident in San Mateo

A 25-year-old Newark man died following a three-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in San Mateo, the California Highway Patrol reported. The accident was reported at 1:20 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just north of State Route 92.

According to reports by the CBS News, the victim, identified by San Mateo County coroner's officials as Eduardo Gutierrez, was driving a 1995 Infiniti northbound on the freeway, when for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and struck a 2010 Toyota and a 2006 Ford, and then crashed into a sound wall. Gutierrez died at the scene of the crash. It was not clear whether anyone else was injured in the accident.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the Highway 101 accident. Based upon the limited reports of the incident, it is impossible to determine how the crash occurred or who was at fault. While this fatal accident remains under investigation, the family of Eduardo Gutierrez may benefit from speaking with a California wrongful death lawyer about their legal rights.
