Motorcyclist Injured in Highway 17 Crash Near Los Gatos
SANTA CLARA COUNTY - A motorcyclist was injured Monday morning in a crash on Highway 17, the Los Gatos Patch reported. The collision, which involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Honda, was reported at 7:07 a.m. at Highway 17 and Summit Road. The motorcyclist was injured and transported to Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Further details about the cause of the May 7th crash were not available. SANTA CLARA COUNTY - A man very tragically died Monday night after he was hit by a black pickup truck in Mountain View, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m., near the corner of North Shoreline Boulevard and Wright Avenue. According to news reports, the pickup truck was travelling northbound on North Shoreline when he struck the pedestrian, who reportedly did not have identification on him. The driver of the pickup truck stopped and remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
SUNNYVALE - A 54-year-old Sunnyvale woman was struck and killed last Monday night while crossing Fair Oaks Avenue in Sunnyvale, Mercury News reported. The woman, identified by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office as Abeba Robinson, was crossing Fair Oaks Avenue just north of El Camino Real when she was struck by a small sedan. Robinson died of her injuries at the scene of the accident, which was reported at 8:23 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011. The driver of the vehicle that struck Robinson stayed at the scene. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the fatal Sunnyvale pedestrian accident. The incident is being investigated by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety's Major Accident Investigation Team. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call investigators at 408-730-7109.
