9-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Car in Marysville
YUBA COUNTY -- A young girl who was walking her bike on her way to school was severely struck by a car at about 7:44 a.m. Thursday, KCRA News reported. The 9-year-old girl, Julianna Villa-Hopkins, was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of 17th and Huston when her bike apparently fell. As she reached down to pick it up, that is when a driver of an SUV making a right from Huston Street and onto 17th Street seriously struck her. The young girl was airlifted to a local hospital after the incident, but later died due to her injuries.
Cause of the Marysville Pedestrian Accident
The accident on November 10th remains under investigation by the authorities. However, based on the information provided by KCRA News and ABC 10 News, it is unclear why the driver did not see the pedestrian.
